After a period of dominance throughout the 1990's, 2012 saw the MA Olympic women's premier league team fight out the grand final for the first time in 12 years. Unfortunately, we were not successful, however the development the women's team has made over the last few seasons leaves nothing but optimism that future success is not too far away for the MA Olympic Women.
In 2013 we fielded a youth fillies team who was very successful by winning the premiership and grand final. They played great football and were guided around the park by their coaches Anne Newton and Liz Hoskins.
2014 saw the Women's team again make the grand final, however where again unsuccessful. Our Fillies (U18) team continued their dominance of the league winning the premiership and grand final for the 2nd year in a row.
2015 we were very proud to field women’s premier league team, a women’s reserve team and a fillies team. Prouder still was that all 3 teams made the grand final. Unfortunately, all 3 lost our in very very close games, and we are hoping we get go one step better in 2016.
2016 brought back the glory days for womens football at the club. We fielded 2 very strong sides, prems and reserve grade. Not only did we end all trophy droughts, the girls did it in style. Womens Prems finished the season with an amazing TREBLE! Premiership, GF and Crad Evans Trophy winners. An absolutely amazing achievement. Our reserve ladies fell one short but completed the double, just missing out on the crad evans sheild. Both sides did the club proud and put womens football back on the map.
2017 was a massive year for the ladies of both divisions. Coached by Gianni Rantucci, and assissed by previous Mens Premier League Captain, Theo Nicopoulos and also Mens premier league player Scott Dymock. Scott Dewer returned to assist with goalkeeping, coaching and filling up the water bottles. Ladies reserves was co coached by Theo Nicopoulos and Captain Toni Plizga. The guys take on there first coaching gig together but are confident they can push for silverwear again this year!! Womens Premier team won the Premiership, but was unsucessful in finals. But as they won the Premiership, they went on to play Cairns in the Crad Evans Carnival and came away with a great Win! Womens Reserve team won both the Premiership, and Grandfinals! Well done to both these teams!
2018 is already turning out to be another great season. Fielding 2 teams again, with the double trouble Gianni Rantucci and Scott Dewar returning as Coaches for the Women Premier side, and Natasha Newman helping out as Manager/player this year. Womens Reserves will be coached by Mens Reserves player, Joel Palmer with the help of previous Fillies player Litsa Sarinas, and Manager Nicole McCulloch, who is also previous member of the womens side
